Stanage in Spring

By Beth Monks

Welcoming spring in Stanage, a journey through rocky landscapes bursting with life.

And then.
we went in the car to stanage
i knew what i was to do and then
we walked up to the crag with the smell of sheep in our noses then
my dad climbed left unconquerable
which was apparently done long ago
by a man called brown in a black and white photo and then
i led it after him that was my first E1 and then
we did a route to the right that was very good and then
we went down to the green traverse and tried that and then
Polly rang me and then we met up with my friends at burbage south and then
i did a bit more bouldering and then
my fingers started bleeding at the tips and then
we went home for our tea.
