Sheffield Schools' Bouldering 2017

By Col

Sheffield Schools Bouldering 2017 inspired students to conquer walls with passion. The event showcased courage and community, building lifelong friendships through sport.

Friday 31st March was the day for our annual Sheffield Schools' Bouldering Competition at The Mini Works in Sheffield, organised by Links School Sport Partnership, Thornbridge Outdoors and The Climbing Works. We were delighted to offer a few little goodies to those taking part.

Jill Whittaker from Thornbridge Outdoors was delighted with the turn out, seeing so many having fun and really getting into the climbing. "The finalists were arriving at 9.30am from the 10 primary schools who had been successful in making it through and the secondary schools were arriving at 1pm. They were going to battle it out to see who could be the individual winners and also which team would win the trophy for 2017. Most of all the day was about having loads of fun, supporting one another and testing out climbing skills against the boulder problems that had been set by Sam Whittaker of The Climbing Works.

The children arrived in their teams of 6 with their teachers and some parents who had come along to watch the action and give lots of support. It really was a fantastic day, smiles all round, lots of trying 'really really hard' and everyone having so much fun.">
