The Alpkit Bouldering League 07/08

The Alpkit Bouldering League 07-08: Climbing adventures in a competitive setting.

Well the Alpkit Bouldering League has come to an end for another year and we’ve been more than happy to give some support again. Thanks to Derek and the team for putting on the event, which saw the usual suspects competing hard. Paul Latham came through with consistently strong performances to take the overall top spot, with Paul Phillips chasing close behind. For the women, Leah Crane came in top of her class, with Beth Monks in second, just ahead of her dad. Sorry Alan, I know you’ve been working hard which probably explains things!
In the Inter league things were even more hotly competed, with nothing to separate Ed Mowbray and David Turner. Polly Blinston took top spot here in the women’s.
As usual the whole series was competed in a great friendly manner, making it fun and accessible to everyone. With the added bonus of a few tunes playing during the evening sessions. This seams to be well received, with no complaints yet over my musical taste! Although Dan took over as DJ for the last couple of rounds. In all honesty it would be nice to see a few new faces coming along to spice things up a bit and giving the locals a run for their money, particularly in the women’s categories. So come on everyone, get training and lets make next years series even better! Any comments or suggestions about the series then let us know, or pop into the wall, have a climb and chat to the friendly guys and girls down there.
