Let weekend adventures unfold. Lookout is a 2-person fold-out style polycotton roof tent that pitches in 3 minutes and gives campervan-level sleep comfort to your car camping setup. Open up spontaneous trips with your bed for the night ready when you arrive - ideal for late Friday evening arrivals!
Elevate your base camp with unrivalled views, simple set up and pack up, and more space in your car for the rest of your adventure kit on longer road trips.
- Attaches securely to a wide range of roof bars
- Pitches in 3 minutes
- Lighter and more compact than hardshell roof tents
- Mattress and ladder included
The simple fold-out design makes pitching your roof tent easy and quick. Remove the protective driving cover (included) and unfold your mobile penthouse. Inside you'll find a spacious 2-person sleeping area with a comfortable high density foam mattress, handy storage pouches and 360 degree views thanks to windows on all 4 sides. The folding design saves on weight and pack size, ideal for small (and large) vehicles and making installation and storage much easier. It also provides a covered 'porch' area underneath the tent to shelter from passing showers. The collapsible aluminium ladder fits inside the driving cover and gives quick access to your tent when you park up.
Lookout's sturdy construction is built to last, standing up to the rigours of campsite life. With a hardwearing polycotton inner, highly waterproof polyester rainfly, rigid folding base and reinforced aluminium frame you'll sleep soundly even when the weather turns foul. And we've chosen a dark rainfly fabric to help stop you being woken too early on bright summer mornings.
Maximum road trip comfort. Minimum fuss.
A note on compatibility:
Your car roof has a weight limit, often referred to as the dynamic roof load (limit while in motion) and the static roof load (limit when stationary, usually around 5x the dynamic roof load), which is stated in your vehicle's manual.
This dynamic roof load limit determines the maximum weight of cargo (including roof bars) that can be safely carried on your roof while driving. Before installing your roof tent please check that the combined weight of your roof tent and bars is within the stated limit of your chosen vehicle.

Sustainability and Product Care
Tent care
Dry and air out your tent thoroughly after each use as roof tents can suffer from condensation. Moist or humid air hitting cold fabric will cause condensation, the easiest way to avoid condensation is to maintain airflow. Do not pack away damp/wet. The hard shell outer can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Spot clean the fabric pod with warm water, mild (non-detergent) soap and a soft sponge. Never use bleach, fabric softeners or other household cleaning products and air dry only. Store your roof tent away from direct sunlight.
Tent repair
To make your tent last longer, avoid prolonged UV exposure and repair damage immediately. If your tent is beyond basic repair, pop down to one of our store's Repair Stations! If you are unlucky enough to rip your tent on a trip, use duct tape or StormSure Tough Tape until you have a chance to repair it properly. For more tent repair tips read our tent care and repair blog.

Organic Cotton
