Alpkit has been nominated as a contender for outdoor brand of the year
We're delighted to have been nominated for Brand of the Year in the TGO Awards 2024. The winners are voted for by the public and voting is now open.
We've built Alpkit on the strength of our amazing customers and we're excited for what's to come in 2024. Whislt being nominated is enough in itself, it'd be great if you head over to the awards survey and give us your vote!
Alongside Alpkit, its wonderful to see so many of our Alpkiteers and friends being nominated too.
Komoot is nominated as walkers app of the year and they have supported us over the years at our Big Shakeout festival and also with mapping for our Sonder Winter Gravel Series. It's great to see the wonderful OS Maps app nominated too.
We've three friends nominated for book of the year.
First up is Harrison Ward and "Cook Out". Harrison is known as the Fell Foodie and we've worked together at many events.
Al Humphreys is nominated with "Local" his latest book. Al is familiar to so many of our customers and has given us many a helping hand over the last 15 years. Al is currently on a sell out book tour at our stores in January and February.
Finally Lee Craigie is nominated for her book "Other Ways to Win". Lee is a great friend of ours and Sonder and we were delighted she joined us and gave an amazing talk at this years Big Shakeout.
Jessie Leong and Paul Messner have both been nominated as Outdoor Filmaker of the Year. Jessie works at our Hathersage store and has featured in many of our photoshoots. Paul is also a friend of Alpkit and joined us at the Big Shakeout and headlined our first in person and online webinar late last year.
We've many of our friends nominated in Open Outdoors award. Everybody Outdoors and AKA CIC are two that we have worked with particularly closely.
Fran Pearson of Kitsquad has been nominated for the Extra Mile award. Fran is a recipient of Continuum donations and we've rehomed 5 tons of outdoor gear in the last 12 months.
Mountain Rescue are nominated in the Extra Mile award. We have such a close relationship with all the Mountain Rescue Teams and Search and Rescue teams around our stores. We hold regular fund raisers and Alpkit Foundation has funded many MRT initiatives. We have so much deeply held respect to MRT and SAR teams who look after us so well in our time of need.
Outside, our neighbours in Hathersage are nominated for independent retailer of the year. Please give them your support.
There's little of interest in the online retailer and chain of the year categories. We think all of them are rubbish. Ahem.
Which leads us to brand of the year. We're nominated alongside Atom Packs, Haglofs, inov-8, Keela, Montane, OMM, Páramo, RAB and Sierra Designs. Being mentioned in the same breath as these is wonderful.
All we know is that we will continue to provide high performance, sustainably made outdoor gear that doesn't cost the Earth, and help even more people get outside through the work of Alpkit Foundation.
Voting closes 29 January 2024.
