June Sewing Stories

June Sewing Stories

By Alex Guerrero

June's sewing stories are where tears and patches meet new dreams. Each repair is a story of resilience and revival, weaving adventure back into every fiber.

We hope you love reading our sewing stories just as much as we love sharing them. Sometimes our Repair heroes are doing big, long projects. Giving your kit the TLC it needs. And sometimes it’s just a speedy patch. Here’s this month’s sewing stories.

Jacket rescue

Our Bristol Repair Station shared a very special sewing story with us. A customer brought in this down jacket. The owner had been in a paragliding accident, where her jacket had been cut off her by the emergency services. She's recovering well now so her friend brought in her jacket to our team for a challenge.

Repair Hero Abi replaced as much down as possible. She then jigsaw-ed together the pieces of jacket. Did a few baffle replacements and patches. And is still finding down floating around her Repair Station now! It looks ace.

Repair Hero Monika's advice for us: "don't leave snacks behind!". A customer left an energy bar in her Toploader handlebar bag. It caught the attention of the mouse in her shed. But now it's beautifully fixed - and with the same fabric as the original.

Sofa sewing story

After multiple hints from Betws-y-Coed assistant manager Jules, Rosanna finally squeezed a few hours in to tidy up our in-store sofa cushion. climber style. She used the foam and hardware from the old cushion and fabric offcuts from the factory!

A first ride rip

The first ride for a customer in his new jacket ended up with a tumble over the handlebars. Luckily, our Repair Hero Monika was on hand to patch it. Even if it was a bit tricky, with the pocket and zippers in the way.
