Team Green Moor

By Alpkit Foundation

Team Green Moor blends teamwork and ecology, cultivating vibrant landscapes and learning the harmony of nature through hands-on projects in their local environment.

A village with a mission. To make getting outdoors a community thing. Team Green Moor are a group of volunteers who have made environmental improvements around their village including developing gardens in the children's playground, installing picnic benches and establishing walking trails and wildlife habits around the area for both community and visitors use.

They plan to continue this work by improving access to both the picnic area and walking trails by installing safe steps/disabled ramp and to build a bird hide in our wildlife area for public use.

Dave Rose of Team Green Moor let us know how the help from Alpkit Foundation got used

“The award allowed TGM to build a set of new wooden steps onto/from the Delf playing field. These allowed us to connect the playing field to adjacent walking trails that we have previously developed including an Interactive Nature trail and a children’s Fairy trail. The new steps will improve accessibility for users (replacing a steep grassy slope) to these locations especially for those users who have walking difficulties.”

It’s great to see a community coming together to help improve access to the outdoors and we know that it can only be a positive. Taking it even further they are looking to instal 2 additional picnic benches and work on the bird hide is scheduled for this year

“The first stages of the project have been successfully completed ahead of schedule, with the installation of the steps and picnic benches. Local residents and visitors/walking groups are already using the steps to access the walking trails, including residents who have mobility issues.”
