Supporting 16th Teesside Boys Brigade means every uniformed member finds purpose. Whether navigating or paddling, they develop skills that carry them beyond.
The Alpkit Foundation is delighted to support 16th Teesside Boys Brigade. The Boys Brigade was founded in 1883 by Sir William Alexander Smith, and was the world’s first church based voluntary youth organisation. They work with over 50,000 children and young adults, providing opportunities and support to engage in a range of activities and projects.
The 16th Teeside Boys Brigade and Discovery for Boys would like to replace their old tents. Their camping trips have been the highlight of many years, with over 600 members attending each. Alan explains the project in further detail.
“The current tents used by the Boys Brigade are over 20 years old and have seen better days.New and improved camping equipment will hopefully renew and instil a love of the outdoors for the youngsters who attend Boys Brigade camps.”
The Alpkit Foundation will provide funding so the 16th Teesside Boys Brigade can update some of their old tents. The future generation of boys aged 11 - 18 who are members of the Boys Brigade are now able to continue to benefit from the camping equipment, and the experiences they provide.
