Noah's Ark Project

By Alpkit

The Noah's Ark Project shelters those in need, offering a haven for families as they rebuild their lives through meaningful connections and supportive networks.

The Alpkit Foundation is delighted to be able to offer support to Noah's Ark Childrens Venture in extending the simple woodland learning opportunities offered to the groups they work with at the Centre. By aquiring resources through funding and utlilising volunteers they will build a hide and clear bits of the woodland to open more access for their users, from which they can offer structured activities to user groups wishing to get more out of the woodland.

Founded in the early 1970’s with the prime objective of providing high quality; low cost short-stay residential breaks to groups working with children, young people and adults from the inner cities and elsewhere. Richard from the Ark explains a bit more. "Noah's Ark is used by a very wide range of organisations from the voluntary and statutory sector including youth clubs, schools, colleges, community groups and support groups working with children, young people and adults from all backgrounds and ages from pre-school to senior citizen. We have a good reputation for being value for money, affordable to groups from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, good at what we do; efficient and effectivem and up to 1600 kids come and stay at very affordable costs to them. We are not big and glossy, just grassroots, doing a job that's needed, offering simple taster experiences for kids who generally have no access to the countryside."

Support from the Alpkit Foundation will help towards the cost of timber and tools needed to build the new hide and help expand what Noah's Ark can offer.
