Mujo
£289.99
Compact enough to fit in a car boot yet thick enough to create a reassuringly protected landing zone.
- 7cm open cell foam to absorb impact and 4cm closed cell to prevent bottoming out
- Hinge closure for ease of carrying and flat landings
- 3 carrying configurations for easy approach
Mujo measures 100 x 132cm, with a hinge closure that can be folded round objects and large rocks. It contains two layers of foam: 7cm open cell to absorb impact, and 4cm closed cell to spread your weight across the pad so you don’t bottom out (compress your pad all the way to the ground). This foam lives in a tough 1100D Cordura shell with a DWR coating, sewn and bar-tacked our UK factory to endure the abrasive nature of being a bouldering pad.
Mujo is the perfect full pad for boulderers who want good quality foam, bombproof construction and functional design without the frills. Mujo has 3 carrying configurations. The comfy adjustable rucksack straps and waist belt can be removed so that they don’t catch or get muddy when you’re climbing, and the rucksack strap doubles up as a shoulder strap for hanging on another pad or boulder hopping. You’ve also got side grab handles.
We fall off things a lot, so we make crash pads that can take a lot of falls. Our foam is crosslinked – a process which bonds molecules in the foam that would not usually link together to make it much stronger and reduce break down from repeated compressions. This makes our foam more shock absorbent and durable than other foams on the market.

How It Is Made
Reducing Fabric Wastage
Our bouldering mat panels are cut to keep fabric waste to the absolute minimum. We also recycle as much scrap fabric as we can into brand new products.
Where It Is Made
Our products are made in the best factories in the world. We know the factories personally and they have all signed up to our Code of Ethics in our supply chain. This includes the Ethical Trading Initiative base code, fair pay, safe working environments, no child labour, no modern slavery, no bribery or corruption, no materials from conflict zones and humane farming methods.
All our factories sign up to our Code of Conduct. Find out where we make our product by visiting our Factories of Alpkit factory zone.
Reducing our carbon footprint
We are carbon neutral under PAS2060 and offset our Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 operations and transport emissions. We recognise that offsetting is not part of the solution but a point to pass through on a journey to Net Zero. Carbon Neutral is just a step in that journey.
We have joined the Science Based Targets Initiative which sets independent targets for us to achieve to do our bit to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Our targets are to halve our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2025 based on 2018 base year and reduce our total carbon intesnity by 15% every year to achieve genuine net zero by 2050.
