Hamer has been lovingly tending to 20 acres of garden for two decades. He visits the intimate, yet distant, relationship he has with the garden owner. The changing seasons encourage him to reflect upon past and future. He teaches us about gardening folklore and wisdom, as well as how his path from solitary homelessness led him to the joys of manual labour. Shortlisted for the Wainwright Prize 2021.
