Fly over Steeple Quarry on The Rooftop Rider Zip Wire. It is 108 metres in length, and you can expect to reach speeds of up to 40mph.
Via Ferrata is Italian for "iron path"
The Via Ferrata is a brand new feature at Mount Cook, which includes a two tier 80 meter journey along a disused quarry face, with a variety of rock and metal handholds.
What to Expect:
High rope protected climbing challenges. Traverse across a quarry and a variety of obstacles using handholds, footholds and limestone rock. Rooftop Rider Zip Wire starts on the Centre's roof and finishes on the far side of our quarry!
What to Bring:
Please bring clothes you dont mind getting a little muddy, Rocks and crevice's will by your habitat. Safety equipment will be provided.

No. You must have a valid Big Shakeout weekend ticket to participate in any School of Adventure Activities. Any orders for activities without a Big Shakeout weekend ticket will be cancelled and refunded.
You will receive an email confirmation with an order reference number upon completing your order. Your order number is your unique reference number, bring it along with you and present it at along with your name at the School of Adventure Meeting Point.
We will do everything we can to make sure your chosen activity goes ahead, however in some circumstances a course may have to be cancelled due to weather or lack of numbers. In these cases we will either offer you a place on an alternative activity or refund.
