The Welsh Ride Thing (WRT) is back for another year—and we’re proud to once again support this legendary event that’s been a cornerstone of the bikepacking calendar since 2009.

As the longest-running bikepacking event in Europe, the WRT has always done things a little differently, and that’s exactly what makes it so special.

There’s no fixed route. No mandatory checkpoints. Just a set of grid references, a map, and a healthy sense of adventure, if not humour.

Whether you’re plotting a 200km epic or a relaxed 50km loop with family or friends, the WRT is designed to be whatever you want it to be. Two days, three days, solo, group, singlespeed, ultra-light or fully loaded—it’s your ride, your way.

We have proudly supported the WRT since its early days. Stuart has a lot to answer for, but we’ve always believed in his unique ethos: adventure for all, without pressure or pretence. From the iconic (and slightly intimidating) ‘weigh-in’ at the start line, to the prize draws (with Alpkit and Sonder goodies) and community buzz, the event is as much about sharing the experience as it is about the riding.

Run each year in aid of the Wales Air Ambulance, you can be guaranteed an adventure on two wheels like no other. Seal the weekend off with home baked cake, hot tea and stories of a wild Welsh weekend.
