Send Your Sleeping Bag to Syria and Turkey

Send Your Sleeping Bag to Syria and Turkey

By Alex Guerrero>

The Continuum Project is currently focusing its efforts on the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. We're collecting donations of sleeping bags to send to Sheltersuit. Sheltersuit is a foundation that provides sleeping bags and waterproof, warm jackets to those experiencing homelessness.

They're currently urgently appealing for donations of sleeping bags to support those displaced by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

"With temperatures now dropping below freezing, and the scale of the recent earthquakes effecting Syria and Turkey becoming more and more understood, there is an urgent need to provide sleeping bags to enhance the insulation properties of our weatherproof Shelterbags . This disaster will affect people for the weeks and months ahead and every sleeping bag could be a live saver." - David Hanney, Chief Exec, Alpkit

"Sheltersuit UK urgently needs sleeping bags to enhance the insulation properties of their weatherproof Shelterbags, soon heading for Turkey. Can you help?" - Ian Sutherland McCook, MD, Sheltersuit

Continuum Project and Sheltersuit are working together to get help to victims of the earthquake. They provide the windproof, waterproof outer and we'll help get them sleeping bags to pair with them.

If you have any sleeping bags spare, please donate them to us. We'll make sure they'll get in the hands of those who need them.

You can drop them off at your Alpkit local store, or return them to us for free at Alpkit HQ. Just make sure you fill in the Continuum Project Donation Form first.

Our Alpkit HQ volunteers will sort through the kit and send essential, priority items on straight away. The donation address is:

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. Every donation makes a difference.

  • Re the sleeping bag donations request I have a number of sleeping mats – old alpkit and other brands that have all some sort of slow leak. Ive had them for years meaning to get them repaired but never made it… could I send them for this – would they be of use?
