road.cc reviews the Camino Ti GRX1 Di2

By Alpkit

road.cc scores our Camino Ti GRX1 Di2 gravel bike 8/10, praising its stable ride, GRX Di2 groupset and value for money, loaded or unloaded.

road.cc took our titanium gravel bike, the Camino Ti built with a GRX1 Di2 groupset, out for a proper test: on the road, off it, loaded with bikepacking gear and running light. Their verdict called it a "solidly specced titanium gravel bike that's nice to ride and good value."

Reviewer Dave Atkinson liked how the Camino Ti settled into a rhythm on longer rides rather than darting between corners. That's exactly the point of the geometry: It's not a bike to be hurried off line, and on the flatter and smoother sections it's a great platform for cruising with minimum rider input. The slack head angle and long wheelbase that make it so composed unloaded are the same ones keeping it steady once you've strapped bags on for the night.

He rated the hand-welded titanium frame well, even while noting the welds themselves weren't the neatest he'd seen. Shimano's GRX Di2 groupset came in for particular praise, and the hydraulic brakes gave "excellent power and feel." The one thing he swapped before finishing the test was the stock Bomber handlebar, fair enough, a lot of riders end up dialling in their own cockpit anyway.

VERDICT:

8/10: Very good. A fun ride that works loaded and unloaded, and a solid spec for reasonable money.
