Keep the chill off. Stay in a little longer.
When your core is still comfortable but your fingers are starting to disagree, a little extra insulation can make all the difference. Rydal Yulex Swimming Gloves help keep your hands warmer in cold water, extending your swim season and helping you stay comfortable for longer.
Made from 3mm Yulex natural rubber, they provide the warmth needed for winter dips and year-round open water swimming without feeling bulky or restrictive when you're swimming.
Highlights
- 3mm Yulex natural rubber - balances warmth and flexibility for swimming
- Warmer hands - helps extend swims in colder water
- Flexible feel - moves naturally without restricting your stroke
- Textured palm grip - secure hold on ladders, pontoons and flask lids
- Adjustable cuff strap - reduces water flushing and helps lock in warmth
- Lower impact materials - natural rubber from certified deforestation-free sources
Built for cold water comfort
Cold water has a habit of finding the weak spots first. For many swimmers, that means fingers that stop working properly long before the rest of the body is ready to get out.
Rydal uses 3mm Yulex natural rubber throughout, providing extra insulation where it's needed most while retaining the flexibility to swim comfortably. Whether you're heading out for a quick dip, settling into a longer skins swim or pairing them with a wetsuit for extra warmth, they help take the edge off the cold without compromising movement.
An adjustable cuff strap helps create a closer seal around the wrist, reducing water flushing and keeping warmth where it belongs. The blind-stitched construction improves comfort, sitting smoothly against the skin, while the textured palm grip provides extra purchase when climbing slippery ladders, pulling yourself onto a paddleboard or reaching for the hot chocolate you've been thinking about for the last ten minutes.
Choose Rydal for...
Cold water dips where you want to wrap up fully against the chill. Longer open water swims when your hands usually call time before the rest of you. Early spring training sessions, summer lake crossings and winter adventures where keeping your extremities warm can make the difference between a good swim and a short one.
Perfect paired with a wetsuit, but equally useful for skins swimmers looking to stay comfortable for longer.
Super natural performance
We've designed the Rydal using 3mm Yulex - a natural rubber foam from internationally certified deforestation-free sources. It's a plant-based alternative to traditional neoprene for swimmers who refuse to compromise between comfort, performance and the planet.
Designer's notes
"Introducing our new Yulex range is something we're incredibly proud of. The latest Yulex 2.0 materials are more flexible than ever allowing us to develop an open water swim collection using the technology without compromising performance. As a brand, we're always looking for innovative materials which are less impactful to the planet so Yulex is a natural step forward in our sustainable, versatile swim range."

Sustainability and Product Care
Care and repair
Store your gloves flat to avoid stretching and avoid folding. To maximise their lifespan we strongly recommend rinsing with fresh cold water after every use (especially if used in the sea). If you need to give them a more thorough clean, hand wash in cold water and leave to air dry away from direct sunlight. Do not machine wash, bleach, tumble dry, iron or dry clean.
Repairs
We have dedicated Repair Stations in our stores and we're fully equipped to breathe new life into your old kit. This includes spare parts, patches, new zips and wash and reproofing of your down and waterproofs. Pop into any store or contact us online for more info.

How it is made
Yulex Natural Rubber
Rydal is made using Yulex - a PEFC and FSC certified natural rubber alternative to traditional neoprene - which makes it one of the most sustainable pieces in our range.
Where it is made
Our products are made in the best factories in the world. We know the factories personally and they have all signed up to our Code of Ethics in our supply chain. This includes the Ethical Trading Initiative base code, fair pay, safe working environments, no child labour, no modern slavery, no bribery or corruption, no materials from conflict zones and humane farming methods.
All our factories sign up to our Code of Conduct. Find out where we make our product by visiting our Factories of Alpkit factory zone.
Reducing our carbon footprint
We are carbon neutral under PAS2060 and offset our Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 operations and transport emissions. We recognise that offsetting is not part of the solution but a point to pass through on a journey to Net Zero. Carbon Neutral is just a step in that journey.
We have joined the Science Based Targets Initiative which sets independent targets for us to achieve to do our bit to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Our targets are to halve our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2025 based on 2018 base year and reduce our total carbon intesnity by 15% every year to achieve genuine net zero by 2050.
End of life
When your partnership with this product is over send it back to us and we will pass it on to someone that needs it through our Continuum Project.
