Peak District Gritstone
£16.19 £17.99
This complete guide to traditional gritstone climbing covers the whole of the National Park, with over 2000 carefully selected trad routes from Mod to E10.
Peak District Gritstone is written by Graham Hoey, a local grit climber with over fifty years experience and a member of the BMC's guidebook committee for twenty years. Over his climbing career, he's climbed every featured route up to E3 and ninety-nine per cent of those up to E5.
The guide is split into three sections: Eastern Gritstone – extending from Wharncliffe Crags down to Black Rocks; Western Gritstone – including The Roaches; and Moorland Gritstone and from the Chew Valley to Kinder. There are also whole sections on famous crags including Stanage and Froggatt edges.
In addition to photography from Mike Hutton, Adam Long, Keith Sharples and others, there are over 400 colour photo topos. Each crag includes detailed access and approach information with GPS coordinates for parking and grid refs for the crags, along with conditions information and local knowledge.
And a detailed introduction includes everything you need for visiting: campsites and accommodation, cafes and pubs, gear shops, climbing walls and tourist info centres.
