Build your hiking or running base layer from the bottom up with the Kepler Boxers – breathable, wicking and odour-resistant Merino undercrackers.

  • Corespun Merino fits better, keeps its shape and lasts longer
  • Breathable and wicking Merino wool keeps you comfortable
  • Naturally odour resistant for wearing more and washing less

The Kepler Boxers are made from corespun Merino wool for extra durability and comfort. Corespun Merino is made by wrapping a nylon and spandex thread with Merino fibres. This clever corespun fabric has all the benefits of standard Merino, but gives your boxers a better fit, helps them to keep their shape and extends their life. We only use super soft ultrafine Merino wool (17.5 microns) from certified non-mulesing farms.

There's no point covering yourself in technical outdoor gear if your cotton undies are going to get all damp and clammy. Merino wool is highly breathable, transporting your body’s moisture away from the skin to keep your nether regions comfortable underneath your walking trousers or running tights.

As an ‘active fibre’, Merino responds to temperature changes too. It controls the rate of evaporation to keep your bottom toasty in winter and cool in the height of summer. The Kepler Boxers use an active cut with flat-lock seams and a high, low-profile waistband to fit comfortably underneath various layers.

Merino wool is also naturally odour resistant. This means you get more uses out of your pants before consigning them to the wash bin. It also makes them ideal for multi-day backpacking trips - kinder on the planet and anyone you’re sharing a tent with!

Sustainability and Product Care

Product Care Information

The better you look after this Merino garment, the better it will look after you. Give your Kepler Boxers a long, happy life with these tips: Hand wash your boxers in lukewarm water, or gentle machine wash at 30°C. Darn any holes as soon as possible so they don’t grow. Avoid snagging, vigorous machine washing, putting your finger through the fabric, and hungry moths.

Sustainability

How It Is Made

Non-mulesed Merino
We only use merino from certified non-mulesed sources. Mulesing is a practice some farms use to guard against parasitic fly strike. We believe this practice is cruel and unnecessary and something that can be easily prevented by regular shearing.

Natural Fibre Materials
Merino wool is 100% natural, biodegradable and renewable (sheep produce new fleece and sheep produce new sheep... usually in spring... they gambol... you know all this...)

Where It Is Made
Our products are made in the best factories in the world. We know the factories personally and they have all signed up to our Code of Ethics in our supply chain. This includes the Ethical Trading Initiative base code, fair pay, safe working environments, no child labour, no modern slavery, no bribery or corruption, no materials from conflict zones and humane farming methods.

All our factories sign up to our Code of Conduct. Find out where we make our product by visiting our Factories of Alpkit factory zone.

Reducing our carbon footprint
We are carbon neutral under PAS2060 and offset our Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 operations and transport emissions. We recognise that offsetting is not part of the solution but a point to pass through on a journey to Net Zero. Carbon Neutral is just a step in that journey.

We have joined the Science Based Targets Initiative which sets independent targets for us to achieve to do our bit to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Our targets are to halve our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2025 based on 2018 base year and reduce our total carbon intesnity by 15% every year to achieve genuine net zero by 2050.

End of life
When your partnership with this product is over send it back to us and we will pass it on to someone that needs it through our Continuum Project.
