We Need Your Vote: Alpkit Nominated for TGO Outdoor Brand of the Year

By Kenny Stocker

We're thrilled to share that Alpkit has been nominated for Outdoor Clothing and Equipment Brand of the Year in The Great Outdoors Magazine Readers Awards 2026.

We will need your vote though - Cast your votes here

This recognition means a lot to us because it reflects what we've always strived for: creating mountain kit that performs when it matters most. From technical shell layers engineered for alpine conditions to base layers with precision-fit patterns that move with you on the trail, every piece we design is built around real-world performance.

Those people in the photo above, that's just a few of us at work. Whether we are in a store, behind a sewing machine, tapping keys on a computer, building a bike or packing your order we obsess over the details – breathable fabrics that balance weather protection with moisture management, articulated cuts that eliminate restriction on technical scrambles, and durable construction that stands up to season after season of hard use. Whether you're pushing through a winter ridge walk or logging miles on multi-day treks, our clothing is designed to keep you comfortable and confident in challenging conditions. But here's where we need you. These awards are decided by readers and outdoor enthusiasts like you. If our kit has kept you dry on a wet hillside, warm on a cold bivvy, or comfortable through a long day in the mountains, we'd be grateful for your vote.

We're also delighted to see so many friends of Alpkit shortlisted across the categories. In Outdoor Personality of the Year, we're cheering for Mike Raine, good friend of our Betws-y-Coed store whose workshops, writing and podcasting are training the next generation of Mountain Leaders, Alex Staniforth of Mind Over Mountains (who we support through the Alpkit Foundation), and Frit Tam, founder of the Climb Out festival who joined us at the Big Shakeout.

For Campaign or Campaigner of the Year, the transformative work of Every Body Outdoors, Mary-Ann Ochota (whose Ridgeway 50 photography project we've been proud to support), and Right to Roam a campaign close to our hearts deserves recognition for breaking down barriers and fighting for access to wild spaces for everyone.

Jo Moseley, who joined us at the Big Shakeout, gets our vote in Outdoor Book of the Year. And if you're at Kendal Mountain Festival this weekend, don't miss the premiere of Sara Barnes' film "Dear Heart" at Alpkit Keswick on Sunday 23rd November at 5:30pm.. Filmed over one day in the Lake District, it's a beautiful exploration of adapting our outdoor adventures for maximum joy and minimum damage, whatever our ability. Get your ticket now all proceeds go to the Alpkit School of Adventure and Foundation – she's absolutely deserving of the Outdoor Film or Filmmaker honour.
