Our love of the outdoors and the world's wild places guides the way we do business. It's in our nature to look after what's important; whether that's the environment, our staff, suppliers, animals, community or our customers.
The proof is in the pudding. We have been giving 1% of our sales to the Alpkit Foundation since 2015.
In 2022 the Alpkit Foundation became a member of 1% for the Planet. You have probably already heard of it, most people have, so it felt so good for our charity to be recognised by such a pre-eminent organisation.
2 years on, and that feeling hasn't changed, so with great fanfare, we can announce that our membership with 1% for the Planet has been re-certified for another year.
Being part of 1% for the Planet is a huge honour. It allows us to amplify our impact, secure sustainable funding, and engage with a like-minded community dedicated to protecting the planet and its people.
Why is the Alpkit Foundation part of 1% for the Planet?
The Alpkit Foundation's certification as a member of "1% for the Planet" offers several benefits, reflecting many common goals.

Access to a broader funding pool: Alpkit is the main funding source for the Alpkit Foundation. As a certified member, the Alpkit Foundation gains access to donations from other "1% for the Planet" members no matter their size. Designer Ant Oram made one such donation. As an independent designer, he didn't have the time or resources to set up his own charity. By partnering with the Alpkit Foundation he was able to realise his commitment to 1% for the Planet.

Increased visibility: Being associated with "1% for the Planet" enhances the Alpkit Foundation's visibility. The certification is a sign of credibility and commitment to environmental stewardship, attracting support from those who value sustainability and wish to contribute to meaningful projects.
