Himalayan Peak UK Challenge 2010 beckons adventurers to conquer the heights, where dreams touch the sky.
For the final part of our trip around Nepal we headed to the Himalayan White Water Challenge 2010, held on the Trisuli river, this is conveniently placed half way between Pokara and Kathmandu, which meant that there was a big turn out for the event. It was the classic Peak UK format over 3 days; a down river race, slalom and freestyle. Even though the Equator camp was only half finished a excellent weekend was put on, with plenty of Dhal Bat and partying to go around.
Looping the Burn
Whilst there i meet a group called the inspirational Himalayan Adventure Girls, who have come through many challenges to be able to learn to paddle and raft, with the hope of not only enjoying themselves but also gaining employment as well. A couple of the girls now work for rafting companies. For more information about there story check out their website, its an amazing project.
The serious business of judging
There were lots of prizes up for grabs especially for the Nepalese who had some tough competition to get a top spot.
Full results from the weekend can be found on the Peak UK site.
Thank-you to; PeakUK, Paddle Nepal, Equator and all others that supported for making it such a ace weekend!
