The Keeshond will keep you warm, cosy and comfortable, whether worn under a softshell for bombing down a ski slope or slogging up a sheltered col in winter, axe in hand.

  • Cosy high loft fleece has an exceptional warmth to weight ratio
  • High loft fleece is highly breathable for working up a sweat
  • Gridded fleece panelling under the arms to dump excess heat

The Keeshond’s high loft fleece has an exceptionally high warmth-to-weight ratio. These fluffy fibres trap lots of pockets of insulating air to keep you nice and warm. But they also have a really open weave that provides plenty of ventilation. This makes the Keeshond a fantastic outer layer in still conditions and an exceptionally breathable midlayer under a waterproof or soft shell.

A combination of the high loft fleece and gridded fleece side panels keeps you cosy without leaving you in a sweaty mess the moment your activity levels pick up. The grid fleece under your arms and down your sides provides less insulation where you get the hottest. As well as stopping you from overheating, these stretchy panels create a more comfortable fit for moving in.

Low profile grid fleece cuffs layer neatly under an outer jacket, with integrated thumb loops to keep your sleeves in place when you’re reaching for your next axe placement. They also prevent cold spots on your wrists when you’re wearing winter gloves. A tall collar with high loft fleece lining keeps you snug against the draughts.

We’ve added open handwarmer pockets for burying freezing fingers in. These also double up as internal dump pockets for warming up your spare gloves. Finally, that zipped chest pocket is handy for stashing your compass, lift pass, or change for a Gluhwein on the way home.

Whether you're brewing in a Baltic bothy, out on the hill for a cold crisp walk, or looking for a serious dose of warmth after an icy plunge in wild waters, the Keeshond will keep you warm.

How It Is Made

Polygiene® Stay Fresh
Polygiene® Stay Fresh technology inhibits the growth of pong-causing bacteria, extending your shirt's lifespan and meaning you can wear it more and wash it less. Wearing your shirt just one more time before washing can save huge amounts of CO₂ and water over its lifespan.

Where It Is Made
Our products are made in the best factories in the world. We know the factories personally and they have all signed up to our Code of Ethics in our supply chain. This includes the Ethical Trading Initiative base code, fair pay, safe working environments, no child labour, no modern slavery, no bribery or corruption, no materials from conflict zones and humane farming methods.

All our factories sign up to our Code of Conduct. Find out where we make our product by visiting our Factories of Alpkit factory zone.

Reducing our carbon footprint
We are carbon neutral under PAS2060 and offset our Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 operations and transport emissions. We recognise that offsetting is not part of the solution but a point to pass through on a journey to Net Zero. Carbon Neutral is just a step in that journey.

We have joined the Science Based Targets Initiative which sets independent targets for us to achieve to do our bit to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Our targets are to halve our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2025 based on 2018 base year and reduce our total carbon intesnity by 15% every year to achieve genuine net zero by 2050.

End of life
When your partnership with this product is over send it back to us and we will pass it on to someone that needs it through our Continuum Project.
