The Sierra Vest is designed to keep you comfortable all day, boosting core warmth and cutting out wind chill without the perpetual patch of back sweat!
The Sierra Vest is designed for days when you’d otherwise spend half your time de-layering and re-layering. Leaving your arms free, it targets the insulation and windproofing where you need it most, with added breathable fleece so you don’t get hot and sticky. We've used recycled fabrics throughout and reduced emissions insulation.
The insulated panels use PrimaLoft® P.U.R.E.™, a high-quality fill that’s highly compressible, warm for its weight and insulates well even when wet. Combined with a windproof fabric, this keeps your core warm on blustery mountain tops, long bike descents, or frosty trail runs in the depths of winter.
The stretch fleece panels are placed down each side and in a tapered column down the back. This allows you to dump excess moisture and heat exactly where you get hottest and sweatiest – under your arms and beneath your rucksack. It also gives you full freedom of movement when you’re shifting your balance on the bike or stretching for hand holds.
Designer's Notes
"We were very excited to be able to make one of the first garments on the market using PrimaLoft® P.U.R.E.™ technology. This technology goes beyond using recycled materials, reducing carbon emissions throughout the whole production process – and all without sacrificing any performance!"

How It Is Made
Recycled Materials.
The Sierra Vest is made using almost entirely recycled materials. The insulation is 100% recycled polyester and the fleece panels are 92% recycled polyester, coming from sources like old plastic bottles. The nylon fabric is also 100% recycled and made using fabric scraps and leftover materials from nylon manufacturing.
Primaloft® P.U.R.E.™
Primaloft® P.U.R.E.™ (Produced Using Reduced Emissions) is a new technology developed by Primaloft® to reduce carbon emissions produced from making insulation. P.U.R.E.™ reduces carbon emissions from manufacturing by up to 70%.
Where It Is Made
Our products are made in the best factories in the world. We know the factories personally and they have all signed up to our Code of Ethics in our supply chain. This includes the Ethical Trading Initiative base code, fair pay, safe working environments, no child labour, no modern slavery, no bribery or corruption, no materials from conflict zones and humane farming methods.
All our factories sign up to our Code of Conduct. Find out where we make our product by visiting our Factories of Alpkit factory zone.
Reducing our carbon footprint
We are carbon neutral under PAS2060 and offset our Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 operations and transport emissions. We recognise that offsetting is not part of the solution but a point to pass through on a journey to Net Zero. Carbon Neutral is just a step in that journey.
We have joined the Science Based Targets Initiative which sets independent targets for us to achieve to do our bit to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Our targets are to halve our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2025 based on 2018 base year and reduce our total carbon intesnity by 15% every year to achieve genuine net zero by 2050.
End of life
When your partnership with this product is over send it back to us and we will pass it on to someone that needs it through our Continuum Project.
