Mastering the Art of Navigation
£25
You might be a hillwalker looking to improve your navigation skills beyond the basics, confident enough to cross open country where paths are faint, or to navigate in low visibility from a known point.
Or you might be a competent, experienced map reader who doesn’t get to practise technical skills very often and would like to refresh them in a relaxed, supportive environment. Either way, you’re welcome, there’s no test to pass first.
A compass is one of the simplest and most invaluable pieces of kit in the outdoors, but how many people really know what all the markings are for beyond “the needle points north”? This course teaches you the rest, so you always know which way to walk. For a written refresher afterwards, see our tips for navigating in low visibility.
If that's more than you need right now, Right Way In A Day Navigation Course covers the fundamentals first.
We will email bookings with an update once exact session times have been confirmed.
