Sonder Broken Road
A companion for a lifetime of adventure, with slack geometry that makes it a capable trail hardtail in its own right. Broken Road comes into its own eating up off-road miles day after day. It's the perfect choice to tackle long distance point-to-points like the West Highland Way or the Cape Wrath Trail.
Build your dream rig with a full set of expedition rack mounts, we've designed the Broken Road to be loaded up with kit and pointed towards remote places. Tough and highly durable with the perfect mix of stiffness where it's needed and a lively, shock absorbing ride feel; both steel and titanium frames can take heaps of abuse even when you're carrying everything but the kitchen sink - offering peace of mind on multi-day trips and more technical trails.
Optimised for use with 29" tyres; soak up uneven ground and enjoy a confidence-inspiring, stable ride at higher speeds. A long wheelbase and relaxed head angle strike the perfect balance between comfortable uphill grinding and hair-raising downhill whooping and make for efficient all-day riding over rough terrain.
Adjustable sliding dropouts give you the freedom to choose between single speed, conventional derailleur or internal hub gears (Ti only). They'll also help you fine tune your setup to match your chosen wheel size and ride style - whether it’s eating up big miles or tackling technical trails.
Broken Road is the off-road adventurer.
The Features
Wilderness ready frame materials
Broken Road is available in lightweight aeronautical-grade titanium or classic 4130 chromoly steel.
Both materials are tough and highly durable with the perfect balance of stiffness and shock absorption for comfortable all-day riding over rough terrain. Steel and titanium frames can take heaps of abuse even when fully loaded with bags and kit, ideal for off-the-beaten-track adventures.
Huge tyres. Endless Grip
Designed for optimum use with 29" wheels with clearance for 2.6" tyres. Soak up uneven ground and enjoy a confidence-inspiring, stable ride at higher speeds. Ideal for longer mile-munching day rides and multi-day off-road adventures. Broken Road can also take 27.5+ wheels with clearance for up to 3" inch tyres.
Trail bike geometry
The long wheelbase combines precision and control, giving you the flexibility to adjust riding position easily. A relaxed head angle lets you cover rough ground efficiently, and strikes the perfect balance between comfortable uphill grinding and hair-raising downhill whooping.
Adjustable sliding dropouts
Adjustable sliding dropouts give you the freedom to choose between single speed, derailleur or internal hub gears (Hub gears Ti frame only). They'll also help you fine tune your setup to match your chosen wheel size and ride style.
Build your dream rig
Triple mounts on the top and bottom of your downtube let you position your bottles high for easy reach, low to fit larger half-frame bags, or under the down tube to accommodate a custom Stingray full-frame bag. There's also a bottle mount on the seat tube and two sets of accessory mounts on the top tube, plus rear pannier mounts for those longer expeditions.
