Santiago / Large
£1,199 £1,749
Santiago knows its heritage; cold-worked, air hardened steel is steeped in the history of long distance riding. But with bang up-to-date geometry, Santiago has a refreshing feel that you know will be good for years to come: 450 mm chainstays, 1.1 m wheelbase, 71 degree head angle, a fork rake of 55 and generous tyre clearance. This makes for a truly comfortable, fast, assured bike, both in its own right (audax slaying, winter riding) or when racked up for multi-month adventures.
AT A GLANCE
- Shimano GRX RX610 12-speed groupset
- Santiago Steel fork
- Sonder Nova 700c wheelset
- Reynolds 631 steel frame
GRX1
The 1 x 12 gearing, with a whopping 10 – 45t cassette, offers a gear range that is wide enough to cope with any terrain, opening up the alpine passes to mere mortals with enough at the top end to cruise up on the flat.
Features
Reynolds 631 steel tubing
Durable, smooth and assured on those multi-month trips Reynolds 631 steel is an excellent material for round-the-world touring where you’re completely dependent on your bike. We’d be surprised if you needed to get your frame repaired, but it’s comforting to know that finding a steel welder in the middle of nowhere is far easier than getting your alloy frame repaired.
Traditional bike, contemporary geometry
Santiago’s takes classic road bike geometry as a starting point, with a longer wheelbase and higher stack height for a more comfortable riding position and assured ride, whether you’re travelling light or fully loaded up.
Generous tyre clearance
Clearance for up to 650b x 47 mm or 700c x 37 mm tyres that make your ride more comfortable and give better grip on the bitumen as you corner.
Full traditional mounts
With full rack and guard mountains, 3 sets of bottle cage bosses and extra cage mounts on the fork, Santiago can handle being fully loaded up.
Geometry and Sizing
Sizing
Generally we recommend: Small: Riders between 5ft 2in and 5ft 7in (157-170cm) Medium: Riders between 5ft 6in and 5ft 10in (167-177cm) Large: Riders between 5ft 9in and 6ft 2in (175-187cm) X-Large: Riders 6ft 2in and over (187cm)
You can also take into consideration the standover height to ensure you pick a bike that will be a good fit. If you measure your inside leg and ensure there is a minimum of an inch from the toptube to your crotch this will give you enough seatpost adjustment to find your optimum saddle height.
