Description

Talini: it looks like a down jacket, lofts like a down jacket, packs like a down jacket and has a good warmth to weight ratio... like a down jacket. It’s not though: get it as wet as you like. Take a shower in it if you really want to.

The Talini uses innovative PrimaLoft® Silver ThermoPlume® insulation – the best synthetic mimic of down available – to produce a jacket with all of down’s benefits, but without any of its downsides (pun fully intended).

The hydrophobic PrimaLoft® plumes don’t lose their structure when wet like down, so the jacket will still insulate in damp climates. The synthetic fill also retains around 90% of its warmth when wet, is fast drying and super easy to care for. It’s also a great down alternative if you prefer not to use animal products.

Offering a similar warmth to weight ratio to 600 fill power down, the plumes are stored within baffles to keep the insulation lofted and evenly distributed. Easily compressible, the jacket can be squeezed neatly into a 3 litre Airlok, ready to be yanked out on Munro-bagging and Wainwright-ticking lunch stops.

The windproof outer fabric is treated with a PFC-free DWR (Durable Water Repellent) to shrug off light rain, hail and snow showers. Effective as an outer layer, it can also be worn as a midlayer underneath shells when the wet and wind-chill really set in.

Elasticated cuffs, a hem adjuster and a high collar trap precious heat inside and there are two zipped handwarmer pockets and an internal chest pocket for valuables.

Sustainability and Product Care

Product Care Information

Wash at 30°C on a synthetics cycle. Wipe spillages clean with a damp, non-abrasive cloth. Do not store compressed, especially damp. For best results tumble dry after washing. It is normal for the insulation to clump if it is still damp, pat gently to re-distribute fill after drying fully.

Sustainability

PFC-FREE C0 DWR As part of our continuing effort to remove long-chain flurocarbons from our outer garments, we’re now using C0 Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatments across our insulation range. Despite the slight impact on performance when compared to C6 DWRs, C0 DWRs are non-toxic and completely PFC-free, causing significantly less environmental damage. We fully support this change. In fact, we quite like the idea of taking time to look after our kit so that it lasts a long time. We’re committed to reducing the environmental impact of all our products, reviewing the materials we use, manufacturing methods and our own consumption of resources. We do the research, make informed decisions, and choose the best option available to us.
