Warm, windproof and packable, ultralight Kanyo punches well above its weight for sleek active layering whether it be spring summit stops, breezy autumn belays or chilly summer evenings around the tent.
When space is limited and the weather forecast’s about as effective as the Ben Nevis Forecasting Stone, it’s hard to know what layers to pack. The Kanyo is versatile in a range of conditions and packs in a surprising amount of warmth for its weight and pack-size.
..Read moreThe outer fabric and inner liner are made from a super light and tough recycled nylon fabric. The dense weave of the fabric forms a fully windproof sandwich around the insulation (inedible though), trapping vital body heat when you stop moving or the wind picks up.
We've used Primaloft Silver Eco insulation for its excellent warmth to weight ratio. This highly compressible fill allows the Kanyo to pack away into its own chest pocket (complete with hang loop for clipping to climbing harnesses).
Primaloft insulation doesn’t absorb water either, retaining its structure and keeping you warm even when wet. This, combined with a fast-drying and (PFC-free) water-repellent treated outer fabric, means the Kanyo really excels in changeable conditions — every other day in the British Isles then!
Not just a versatile outer jacket, the hood-less, low-profile design means the Kanyo can also double up as a super warm mid-layer in colder temperatures, its quilted 60gsm insulation fitting neatly under outer shells.
Designer's Notes
"With PFC-free DWRs and a 100% recycled fabric and fill, the Kanyo is our most sustainable jacket yet. We could have used (readily available) recycled polyester for the inner and outer fabrics, but we worked really hard to find a recycled nylon that would make the jacket last longer and further add to its sustainable design." – Ronnie, Design Manager

Caring For Your DWR
To keep your jacket’s durable water repellent (DWR) treatment in tip-top condition, wash it regularly in pure soap or a specialist cleaner (like Nikwax Tech Wash or Grangers Performance Wash). You may also need to refresh the treatment about once or twice a year (depending on usage) using a reproofer. Using a spray-on reproofer preserves your jacket's wicking ability.
Washing Instructions
Wash on a delicate cycle at 30˚C or hand wash with lukewarm water. Use a technical wash product or pure soap. DO NOT use detergent, fabric conditioners or softeners. Rinse thoroughly in clean water. Line dry or tumble dry on low heat. Use a cool iron to reactivate the DWR.

Recyced Fabrics
The Kanyo's inner and outer fabrics are 100% recycled nylon, made from post-industrial recycled content. This uses up leftover matter from nylon production as well as fabric scraps from the cutting process to remake it into brand new nylon fabric!

Recycled Insulation
We’ve used also used PrimaLoft® Silver Eco, a 100% recycled polyester insulation, for the fill.
