Run YHA, held at Castleton Losehill Hall is in its third year. The event takes place this weekend, with a whole host of races, talks and films going on throughout.
Friday evening is the Alpkit Night Run. Starting at 9pm, a distance of 6km is undertaken. The run is guided, and takes participants from Losehill Hall, up Losehill and towards Hollins Cross, before heading back down to Hollowford Road and back to YHA Castleton. There’s two different pace groups, to give those who haven’t run off road at night before a first taste of running in the dark. Alpkit are providing a Gamma Head Torch for each participant, to help guide the way through the difficult terrain.
Saturday is the Skylite Half Marathon, a shorter version of the famous Edale Skyline route, and a 10km loop takes place on Sunday, around Castleton village.
The Hope Valley Brewery is the only charity run brewery in the country, and they’re making a special runners ale for the weekend. Together with the film showings and talks, it will be a weekend not to miss!
