The Arrowhead is just the start of an exciting year for Paul and his bike. Shortly after this event he will be flying out to Nepal for the 2010 Yak Attack. Starting on March 9th from the heart of Kathmandu, this is a 10 day, 420km (261 miles) with over 8000m of ascent. Reaching a high point of 5416m across the Thorong La it is sure to be a be a real test against temperature, trail conditions and altitude.
Then it's out to Purnie Bore, South Australia in September to end the year at "Satan's Velodrome" for the Simpson Desert Bike challenge. A nine stage challenge over 5 days it roughly breaks down with the first four days consisting of a 80km morning stage and a 50km afternoon stage, ending with another 80km stage on day 5. The total 590km takes them over 700 sand dunes, salt lakes and no doubt, stray kangaroos, to finish at the Birdsville Hotel in Queensland for a well earned stubby. Temperatures could easily be up in the 40's as he tries to avoid the pursuing 'sweep vehicle'!
