Outdoor Show 2016

By Col

It has been a few years since we've exhibited at a big show like this, right back when the Oudoor Show was last at the NEC. Well we've had quite a few developments since then and this year is particularly exciting. So it came that we decided to pack our vans and head down to the big smoke and ExCel for the Telegraph Outdoor Show and The London Bike Show. One of the biggest drives was our new Sonder bikes, so while they may have been 'released' before Christmas, this was an ideal platform to give them a proper showing and more of an official launch. There was a great reception for the bikes, the Sonder Camino Ti in particular seemed to attract the cameras. Plus, after having to keep it quiet for a while, we could also release news of our new Sonder Transmitter with SRAM's new NX1 groupset.

But of course bikes were just a part of the weekend.Shows like these are great for getting face to face with our customers, old and new alike. So this was an idealoppurtunity to show off some other exciting developements coming soon to Alpkit. Here's a few photos from what was of note from our stand at the weeekend. In exciting times within our technical clothing range we have a good number of new products coming through this year, including the Balance waterproof and accompanying waterproof trousers.

Here we have the new lightweight 3 layer Gravitas waterproof, along with our expanding Koulin active range including these trail tights. They are not too far way, so more news coming soon.

The three Sonder bikes took a prominent position on our stand, getting lots of attention.

Our main stand was in the Outdoor show, but we had a smaller display in the Bike show with bikes loaded up with luggage and this tarp set up with our Rig 3.5.

Being one of the first to market with these, we had our Love Mud Rumpus 650b+ wheel sets on show. Available in 100/135, 100/142 and Boost 110/148.

Lastly, but not least, there was the SuperBloc competiton. It was great to have Alpkiteer Billy Ridal representing us in the open through Saturday and Sunday and he certainly didn't disappoint, looking strong and cruising through to a superb 4th spot in the finals.
