Wanted: Kickass boxpacker and customer service helper

By Alpkit

Tom, is off on his travels to South America so we need someone to help out Izzy in customer service but mostly to work in the warehouse packing our orders. We may be flexible to personal circumstances so if you can only work part time feel free to contact us as well.

Although we are still a relatively small company, our reputation for great customer service is huge and we want to maintain that. This means we try only to take orders for stuff we have, and if we have and order it will go out that day. So some days, all you might do is pack orders and some might be more mixed with some office work. You need to be reasonably fit and healthy and an active interest in the outdoors and an awareness of the gear available would be advantageous. Some experience in a customer service environment would be an advantage as well being able to work to strict deadlines. High levels of English and Maths as well as solid basic IT skills would help with the office side of the job.

Your daily duties would include:

Be able pack orders to strict courier deadlines
Understanding, the daily picking/packing procedures
Answering all emails and telephone calls promptly
Managing print runs of orders to meet dispatch deadlines
Administrating returns
Understanding basic warehouse layout, functions and processes

Alpkit is a small team: there are just eight of us, and as excellent customer service is our bread and butter, you will be an important part of what we do. We have a relaxed office environment but we work hard. Coffee (and tea for the non-believers) is always to hand, decent music is almost always on but when there is stuff to do, we knuckle down and get on with the job.

What we are offering
We are offering a full-time contract. The hours of work will be 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5.30 pm. Depending on experience, salary will range from £12 - 14k.

Part time positions will be offered £6.00 - £6.50 / per hour.

More about us
Alpkit is based in Ilkeston, which is halfway between Nottingham and Derby and just off junction 26 of the M1. It takes about 25 mins in the car from either city or about 40 mins by bike.

Please send your CV to us along with a covering letter/email explaining why you would like to be part of the team to nick@alpkit.com or by post to the address on the website.

Deadline 30th Jan
