This weekend, the Alpvan is heading to Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire. Upper Mills are hosting the event ‘Made Beautifully Here’ this Saturday from 11am to 5pm. The mill is opening its doors to the public for the first time in over 100 years to allow the public to meet the makers and browse locally hand crafted products.
Factory manager Ben will be there, showcasing our UK made bike luggage and bouldering pads. Based just outside of Nottingham, we have been making and developing bike luggage in-house for over 3 years now. Over this period, the factory has significantly grown; we’ve taken on new staff, released new products and deal with custom orders on a daily basis. We’ve successfully made thousands of items to enable people to ‘go nice places, do good things’.
As mentioned in our development post, our line of luggage has recently undergone several changes and developments. The factory has been listening to our customers and team members whilst pulling in design elements from previous custom builds in order to update certain products. Items such as the Fuel Pod, Koala, Kowari, Stem Cell and Roo will all be there on display in their new and improved version. You’ll be able to come and have a look and feel of the products, speak to the team and get advise on your next bike packing adventure.
If you’re in the area, swing by to say hello! The event is happening at Upper Mills, Slaithwaite, HD7 5HA. Entrance to the event is free and if that’s not enough to tempt you, there will be treats on offer from the Hand Made Bakery, craft beers from Empire Brewery and locally roasted coffee from Dark Woods Coffee!
