April saw a range of daring deeds coming through from the Alpkit team.
At the very start of this month we got wind of Claire O'Harascooping first spot in the New Zealand kayak freestyle trials on her travels around the globe.
Rich Bramley sent through reports of a 15 strong canyoning trip to New Zealand back in January, as they explored the wealth of oppurtunities out on the South Island.
Within the climbing arena our very own factory supremo Ben Meakin had the hard task of spending 2 weeks in Kalymnos where he managed to pick off his first 8a, then another, and another. Ramon Marin has dropped his axes and headed off to warmer weather too to enjoy what looks like some amazing climbing in Sicily.
at the end of April we saw both Vin Cox and Paul Errington head out to the USA where 323 miles of gravel faced them when they took on the Trans Iowa. Vin put in a great effort, but unfortunately had to pull up after 236 miles, while Paul went through to complete the race in about 28 hours 39 minutes in joint 12th. We hope to get some thoughts on the ride soon so keep an eye out on our Daring Deeds.
finally we got a heart warming, or should that be Filo warming story from Alpkit customer Janne Geurts who sent thanks after she became stranded on the Haute Route.
this month should see plenty more activity as Paul Swailis out in the Alps with an eye on some north faces, so we look forward to hearing some stories. He may also meet up with Alpkit Kenny who has just headed out for the 10th addition of the Melloblocco boulder festival, before moving onto the Italian singlespeed champsthe following weekend.
with two bank holidays and a school half-term, we wish you all a May packed full of daring deeds.
